Spanning 12 hectares with a height difference of 100 meters, the Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle feature 80 different garden landscapes with plants and flowers from around the world.

Maria Weißenstein

The pilgrimage site of Maria Weißenstein dates back to 1553, when the Virgin Mary appeared to Leonard Weißensteiner and healed him from his illness. In gratitude, he built a chapel where believers can seek help.

The Bolzano arcades

Experience South Tyrolean culture up close

From our Nature Resort in Obereggen, you can reach the provincial capital Bolzano in just 20 minutes by car. The city attracts with numerous shopping opportunities in the historic arcades, the lively fruit market, and a wide selection of cafés and small wine bars – a visit is definitely worthwhile.

As diverse and varied as the surrounding landscape is, so is the cultural offer between mountain and valley. Numerous museums, castles, and fortresses invite you on exciting discovery tours.

The Bolzano Arcades

The arcades were built in the 12th century by the bishops of Trento to promote trade in what was then the small town of Bolzano. Today, the arcades run through Bolzano’s old town from east to west and are the city’s most important attraction. With their unique architecture, they are probably South Tyrol’s most distinctive and historically rich shopping street.

While strolling through the Bolzano arcades, there is much to discover and admire. The romantically winding alleys create a very special atmosphere. Elegant boutiques, charming shops, cafés, delicatessens, and inviting bars – here the city’s life pulses.

Neustift Monastery

The Augustinian Chorherrenstift Neustift in the Eisack Valley is one of the most important monasteries in the Tyrol region.

In wine lies the truth

Monastery winery

The winery of Neustift Monastery is one of the oldest in the world. Around the monastery grows the best Lagrein of the abbey. Old, native grape varieties are cultivated here once again. Tradition, the unique location, and the pursuit of highest quality are reflected in the Neustift wines.

In the Eisack Valley, the cool temperatures and light moraine soils provide ideal conditions for white wine cultivation. The warmer, purchased vineyards with porphyry soil in Bolzano are perfect for red wine production.

State Museum of Cultural and Regional History

Tyrol Castle

Tyrol Castle was the residence of the Counts of Tyrol and gave the region its name. For almost a thousand years, the regional rulers represented the area here before the political administration moved to the more accessible Innsbruck in the 15th century.

Today, an interactive tour through the castle invites visitors to discover important milestones of regional and art history. The archaeological museum in the castle offers a comprehensive insight into the first settlements in the Alpine region from the 7th century BC onward.

The ring wall, built around 1100, is one of the oldest surviving castle walls. The chapel, with frescoes from the 13th century, houses the oldest stained glass in Tyrol and an impressive wooden crucifix group from the 14th century.
